An Update for CWTP

Dear CWTP family,

In the last few months, our theatre productions leadership team has gone through some transitions. We know there are many questions regarding the future of this ministry. We hope this will answer some questions while letting you know what we can about the status and future of CWTP.

Most importantly, we ask for your prayers and patience as we figure out the future of this ministry. We feel it is necessary to announce that our previously announced shows for the 2024 season are delayed to 2025 as we take a year hiatus to evaluate and reorganize this ministry. For the time being, Cameron Edinger (Creative Director of Film/Storytelling at CWC) will be stepping in to a leadership role of the ministry under the supervision of Pastor Holly Mestach (Worship/Outreach Pastor at CWC). Many decisions lie ahead as we put this team together, recognizing that an undertaking as large as a production can only be possible through the efforts of a team of many incredible volunteers and supporters.

To the many volunteers who make this ministry possible -- actors, crew, artists, greeters, dancers, choir members, costumers, technicians, set builders, and anyone who poured countless hours into making our theatre experience beyond incredible (both in terms of artistic and technical excellence and the impact made in the lives of many) - you are the theatre. You always have been, and you always will be. It is by your many hours sacrificed memorizing lines, rehearsing music, hanging lights, painting sets, setting up, and tearing down that this 30-year ministry of Christ Wesleyan has been possible. Though we have many questions about the shape of this ministry in the days to come, we can assure you of this: The ministry will continue. After all, as they say - “The show must go on.” While we ask for your understanding as our ministry might look or function differently, we ultimately look forward to bringing the CWTP family together when we are ready to take to the stage once again.

To the many avid theatre supporters in our community -- whether you have provided vital support for our theatre through sponsorships or simply enjoying theatre with us — we cannot thank you enough for your support through the years. Our goal is to return to the stage as soon as we can, recognizing that we cannot do it without you. Our hope has always been to make a positive impact in the hearts of our community through utilizing the gifts God has blessed us with and many of you have partnered with us, believing in the mission of our ministry. We look forward to partnering with you again.

To anyone who enjoyed a play, musical, or concert at Christ Wesleyan Theatre Productions, we look forward to delighting you once again and hope our hiatus will pass quickly as we seek to build our theatre experience back once again. Your enthusiastic support of our shows has meant so much to us. Without the incredible audiences we have had over the years, our efforts would not have been possible.

To the members and attenders of Christ Wesleyan Church who have relentlessly supported the mission of Christ Wesleyan Theatre Productions over the years, we can assure you of this: Our mission will not change. “Performing arts on a mission” has been the principle at the core of Christ Wesleyan Theatre Productions. Our mission has always been and will continue to be to display Christ to our community through the gifts He has so richly blessed us with so that people may come to a saving knowledge of Him. The evidence is clear - CWTP has been an impactful local missions opportunity, and it will continue to be so.

We know there are many questions, and we have precious few answers at the moment. Please bear with us and pray for us as we enter this time of reorganizing.

CWTP is a very beloved ministry. By us. By you. By many in our community. We are trusting God with the future of this ministry and anticipating the many exciting things to come in Christ Wesleyan Theatre Productions!

We look forward to seeing you again in 2025!
